There is no possibility to obtain a visa at the border. Tourist visa: Copy of the confirmation from the Belarusian hosting tourist organization required. Hosting organization should be registered as a tourist company by the Belarussian authorities. For a transit visa everyone needs a visa for the country travelling to via Belarus. In the case of travelling to a country that requires no entry visa then a copy of the ticket, fax from a hotel in Belarus with the confirmation of your accommodation, plus the itinerary from your travel agency or any other document confirming your trip to the appropriate country. Note: as of May 2000, transit visas will be required for all travellers heading to Russia or other new Independent States via Belarus (even if the traveller has a valid Russian visa or visa of other NIS state). After arriving in Belarus report information about the location and duration of your stay to the local police.

Everyone travelling to Russia needs a visa plus these things: Name, birth information, nationality, full itinerary, border crossing points clearly labelled, reference number given by the consulate, travel confirmation from a German or other travel agency. Without any of the above no visa will be given. Travel visas will be given only with complete flight confirmation, or travel passes plus the visa for the country travelling to. The transit visa must be used within 72 hours of processing. There are some agencies in Berlin speeding it up against a fee, contact the Circus for info.

Ukraine

Visa free states are: EU, former USSR, USA, Canada, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Vatikan, Japan, Mongolia, Moldawia, Andorra, Iceland, Monacco, San Marino, Norway. No visa needed if you are from one of these countries, all others need to apply for a visa.

To receive a visa you need a passport, beforehand you need a description of your travel plans and written confirmation from a travel agent, plus the reference number from the Foreign Minister of the Ukraine, the visa form and a passport photo. Transit visas require a passport, a full description of your itinerary and the visa from the third country, plus the travel tickets, the visa form and a passport photo.
