Restaurant Bar Fabisch
The Restaurant Cafe Bar Fabisch on the ground floor of the Circus Hotel opened in October 2008. As part of the opening of the Circus Hotel on Rosenthaler Platz, the Circus team felt that, although there were a good number of excellent bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood, what was missing was a high-end cafe-bar and restaurant that offered fresh, quality German cuisine. At Fabisch you can choose from window seats overlooking the hustle and bustle of Rosenthaler Platz, a cosy lounge area with leather sofas, of the conservatory which opens out into the calm and peaceful courtyard. The design concept for Fabisch, created by Sandra Ernst with help from Eliza Strozyk and Nina Staehli, reflects on the former use of the space as a clothing store and developed into a theme for contemporary times.
Each morning Fabisch serves breakfast, including a buffet featuring organic fruit, yoghurt and milk, free-range meat and eggs, and organic bread. The coffee served is from a blend created especially for Fabisch, in conjunction with Bonanza Coffee Heroes. In goes especially well with the homemade cake, served each afternoon. Head Chef Roman Bigalke and his team have put together an evening menu that predominantly uses ingredients from Berlin and the surrounding area, emphasizes seasonality, as well as produce from suppliers committed to sustainable methods of agriculture and the fair treatment of animals.
Bar Manager Jared Goldman has developed a cocktail menu using ingredients selected for their quality and reputation. The menu runs from the classic to the contemporary, and includes the signature drink – The Fabisch Gimlet – created to mark the opening of the bar and restaurant. Fabisch is also home to a programme of cultural events, including live music and exhibitions.
