clubtransFrom January 28th until February 7th is the 11th edition of the Club Transmediale, Berlin’s festival for “adventurous music and related visual arts.”  It is taking place in venues around Alexanderplatz, and the main spot for club nights, performances and concerts will be the newly re-opened WMF, one of the legendary names in the Berlin club scene.

There are loads of excellent nights out to be had over the course of the festival, but we would like to recommend a couple that we think should be extra special…

Four TetFriday 5th February – Four Tet, Kelpe, Fuckarma (eclectic, electronica, leftfield, IDM) and Joker, 2562, Scuba, Mount Kimble from Hotflush Recordings (dubstep).

Saturday 6th February – From Canada, The Modern Deep Left Quartet and guests, ft. Deadbeat, Tikiman Video, Gabriel Coutu-Dumont (downtempo, future jazz, tech house)

It’s the first full week of the year and there is plenty going on for those of you who are not afraid of venturing out into the cold streets to find entertainment.

We’ve got a full programme of events at The Circus, as well as some tips for the best of what’s going on around the city…

@The Circus

We’ve got some great live acts coming to The Circus this week. On Thursday in Goldman’s Bar, My Baby Is From Nashville will be bringing their own brand of trash-country to the basement of the Circus Hostel, whilst on Sunday evening Sandra Kolstad (photo) will be performing at Fabisch in the Circus Hotel. Also at Fabisch, on Friday, we have some blues/soul/country from LitoTabora.
