MEET YOUR HOSTS
Our concierge team is available for you both before you arrive and during your stay. Each day from 7.30am until 11pm there will be a member of the team available in “The Kitchen” cafe and lounge on the ground floor. During the night the reception of The Circus Hotel are available by telephone for anything you might need. At all times there is someone available for you, and so we urge to please approach us with whatever it is you might need... more than anything we are here to help, and if it is in our power to do so then we will!
The concierge team includes some of the best members of The Circus team, and they have been selected for both their personal approach to hospitality and their knowledge and experience of the city. So if you need a spot on the Gallery Walk, a reservation at Tim Raue, or tips and tricks as to where to buy the best groceries, the latest copy of your favourite magazine, or any other information about the city they will be sure to help.
The team is led by Isabelle Uhe and Johann Schwettmann. Isabelle has been working for The Circus since 2010 and has worked and studied in Great Britain, Ireland and the United States as well as here in Germany. Outside of work here passion is politics, and is closely involved with a number of different projects including the founding of a refugee support organisation here in Berlin in 2010. A keen flamenco dancer, she fell in love with Berlin because of the tolerant and international nature of the city.
“I like to see a different perspective, and here in Berlin it is possible to do so without leaving the city limits. To experience different ways of life I do not need to sit on an airplane for six or seven hours... it is all here right in front of me.” – Isabelle
Johann was born in the northern city of Greifswald and moved to Berlin at the age of four. Having studied in Denmark, Johann trained in hospitality, and has worked as a waiter, a bartender and a receptionist in a variety of different places before taking his new position at The Circus Apartments. Passionate about music and sport, after over two decades in Berlin Johann is well placed to give you all the tips and tricks you might need to make the most of your time in the city.
“Outside of work you will often find me at the Volkspark Friedrichshain, playing basketball, jogging, or relaxing in the sauna of the SEZ with its wonderful view of the park. For the best view of the city, I head up to the Vikoria Park in Kreuzberg, perhaps after a bike ride at the old Tempelhof airport.”
