The Circus

Company organisation

The Circus Hostel, Hotel and Apartments, are owned and operated by The Circus GbR, a private unlimited company established in Berlin 1997, owned by 5 shareholders, who all represent the company fully and individually with unlimited signing rights. All 5 are working at different places in the company full time.

The Circus Holding GmbH, listed at the Amtsgericht Charlottenburg under the registration number HRB 90977 since 2002, holds a part ownership in Brewers Best of Berlin GbR, established in 1997 by Terry Brewer to offer high quality guided city tours in Berlin (www.brewersberlin.com).

The Shareholders

Andreas Becker: born in Westphalia, rural Germany bordering The Netherlands, he is the only remaining from 4 partners founding the company in 1997, and is in charge of company development and is the one to talk to, in case you have some interesting ideas for new projects you want us to be involved in. If not in the office, you´ll find him on 2 wheels somewhere on the road..or off the road…

Andreas Digel: Swabian by birth and nature, a German region famous for it´s no nonsense approach and it´s efficiency, he is a partner since 2001 and is our Office Manager, in charge of all questions related to accounting and finances. As a big fan of all sort of electronical music he is also the co-owner of the vinyl selling Berlin record store "Rotation" (www.rotation-records.de)

Christian Göppert: The only real "Berliner" in the team and a partner since 2001, he spends a lot of time talking to construction companies being responsible for all questions building-related and partners with Sandra Ernst when it comes to the "look" of the Circus. Being in the process of family building he might have less time in the future for Snowboarding and Motorbike riding, and will instead learn everything about the different ways of a baby to keep it´s parents awake…

Andrew "Jim" Hadfield: a true "Mancunian" he loves his pint, the glorious Manchester United FC, weird food and most of all his beautiful kids Josefine and Tommy. Being in Berlin and The Circus since 1998 and a partner since 2007 he is taking care of the Reception and the different services of the Circus.

Tilman Hierath: he brings the solidity and sobriety of the son of a North-German pastor into the team, with some Austrian scents. A big lover of technical gadgets he found the perfect working field for him with being in charge of IT, website, telecommunication and marketing in the Circus. He is a partner since 2007.
