No matter where in the world you are reading this from, if you are anything like us, you eat, sleep and breathe traveling! Whether it’s fantasizing about your next trip, planning it all out or being in the middle of it, everything travel-related just puts a smile on your face. And with the traveling restrictions being applied world-wide, being excited about your next wanderlust getaway has been a little tricky these days.

But there is so much to be excited about!

As of May 25th, Berlin is open for tourists again, and the city is slowly but surely coming back to the way it’s always been – full of life! Restaurants and bars are reopening, the number of people allowed to gather is increasing and borders to neighboring countries are expected to reopen soon. Summer is here, and if you are one of the lucky few who can already come visit us, we are here to help you experience Berlin and keep your health intact!

From where we stand right now, the view is looking promising, and we would like to make our little contribution to your level of excitement in the best way we can: by showing you the Berlin we know and love so much!

You know the list of things to do is endless, so we are serving it to you 3 tips at a time. Today, it’s all about nature and making the most of the city’s green spaces! So get your bikini on, it’s time to soak up the sun Berlin style!

1. Lakes, lakes, and more lakes

Possibly our favorite Berlin-fact is the amount of waterways all over the city! We’ve never met anyone who doesn’t love lakes, and with so many to choose from, you might end up staying much longer than you expected. And with the city’s incredibly well-connected public transportation (thank you BVG, we love you), Berlin lakes are easily and quickly reachable from any starting point. Our favorites include Plötzensee, Krumme Lanke, Müggelsee, Wannsee and Weißensee (to name a few) and, like we said, choosing which one to visit might get tricky, but this is what our staff is for, so go ask them!!!

2. Berlin is greener than you might think

If you’ve ever tried looking over Berlin in Google maps, you might have noticed a huge patch of green resembling Central Park smack in the middle of the city. That’s Tiergarten, and as big and green and lovely as it is, it’s just one of the many green surfaces of Berlin. A haven for book lovers, tree huggers and picknick enthusiasts, parks in Berlin literally have something for everyone, and it rarely takes more than 5 minutes to reach one. From Weinbergspark literally in front of our doorstep to the grill center of Volkspark Friedrichshain and finally the roller blades dream that is Tempelhoferfeld, when it comes to parks in Berlin – you cannot go wrong!

      3. Walking tours

With an incredibly dense history and more space to cover than you can possibly imagine, Berlin is one of those cities you’ll want to be guided through! We know that, and we got you covered. Free walking tours are still leaving daily from The Circus Hostel, all you have to do is let the stories absorb you and your feet guide you through Berlin’s cultural heritage.

And you can rest assured that if staying with us you can feel safe knowing that we are taking all the measures necessary to help you and all of our guests enjoy our beautiful city while ensuring your well-being and safety in all aspects. We may have to stay 1,5m apart from each other but we are in this together and we can’t wait to welcome you again!
