Brunch and Mimosas, Hugs and Kisses, Noel and Liam… some things just work brilliantly well when they work together. Great partnerships make for great success and if you’ve been keeping up with our recent stories, you know at the Circus we have been making a lot of inspiring changes to help serve you better and make your stay with us unforgettable…
With a little help from our friends, we’ve added valuable services like Breakfast in Bed served by the always delicious and attractive Commonground Cafe at the Circus Hotel, Behind the Curtain Events continues to deliver the most unique Berlin encounters, exposing the usually untapped and unknown parts of our curious city, supported by the most talented local experts and guides. Master carpenters PA Tischlerei created our integrated bespoke furniture for our hotel rooms and Steeltown created the cool effects for our welcoming rooftop honesty bar with iconic Berlin skyline views and now, with great pleasure we announce a very special partnership with fellow Berlin craft bier duo Pirate Brew Berlin who will be working with our master brewer Heiko Rhode to create a Scottish Golden Ale in honour of new CHBC Bar Manager Callum Hunter!
Heiko’s speciality brew is his time-honoured Pilsner, well loved for its classic form and taste and enjoyed by those with a discerning taste. Whereas Christina and Andreas, the couple behind Pirate Brew like to shake up the Craft Beer establishment with offerings such as their Pirate Porter, infused with Trinidad Scorpio chillies and created in collaboration with Berlin hot sauce fave, Crazy Bastard.
Pirate Brew says: For us, collaborations are a way to engage in the craft beer community, expand our network, further learn the art of brewing beer and, frankly, having a great time. This collaboration, in particular, is very special for us. Heiko is one of the most experienced brewers we ever worked with and at the same time the most traditional. We believe that we have a lot to learn from each other which always makes it very exciting.
We’re brewing a slightly smokey Schottish Ale aged up to 2 weeks on whiskey wood chips for a nice whiskey character to it. The idea is to have a beer that is lowly hopped with a moderately sweet caramel malt character. We thought it was a nice style that fits well with the incorporation of Callum as a new bar manager. Also, the style is not overly crazy but still interesting and easy drinking.
This will be the first of many guest ales to appear at the Circus Hostel Brewing Co as we aim to bring more variety and creativity, not just to the bar, but the whole Berlin craft beer scene.
On Saturday 14th October 2017 from 8pm we invite you to meet the brewers and sample our Scottish Golden Ale at the Circus Hostel Brewing Co as we party and sample our efforts!
