One of the many nice things to do on a weekend in Berlin, is to visit one of Berlin’s many flea markets. We compiled a little list of some of the nicest ones and hope you’ll enjoy a little stroll as much as we do!

1 Boxhagener Platz, Friedrichshain

Boxhagener Platz, Friedrichshain, Sunday  10am. U+S  Warschauer Str., M10 Warschauer Str/Grünberger Str.

Right in the heart of Friedrichshain, one of Berlin’s nicest neighbourhoods to stroll around, Boxhagener Market makes a perfect Sunday visit. Check out the cosy little cafés around this famous square, buy some fabulous 80s-clothes or just watch a nice mix of families and vintage-hunters do their thing.

2 Arkonaplatz, Mitte

Every Sunday 10am – 4pm. U Bernauer Str. , M1 Zionkirchplatz, M10 Bernauer Str

http://www.troedelmarkt-arkonaplatz.de/

Just a small walk from The Circus, the Arkonaplatz market is a hidden gem when it comes to flea markets. Every Sunday from 10am you can nose through real Berliners’ vintage items – old records, books, furniture and gadgets from the GDR, as most of the sellers are people from the neighbourhood. Also, don’t miss the fabulous Bratwurst-stand!

3 Mauerpark, Prenzlauer Berg

Every Sunday 8am – 6pm, U Bernauer Str., M10: Wolliner Str. or Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark

http://www.flohmarktimmauerpark.de/

Not much of a Geheimtipp anymore, the Mauerpark Flohmarkt is still worth a visit.  There’s a lovely beer garden, a wide range of food and aside from the usual vintage stuff you can buy art and design pieces of many sorts. Make sure to grab a drink and check out the famous Bearpit Karaoke at the Amphitheater or chill in the park to the nice tunes of the various musicians who come to the park each Sunday.

Maybachufer between Friedel- und Pannierstraße, Neukölln, Apr-Oct, bi-monthly, 10am – 6pm, U Schönleinstraße

Moritzplatz, 10969 Berlin, Kreuzberg, Apr-Oct, bi-monthly, when Nowkoelln isn’t on, 10am – 6pm, U Moritzplatz

http://www.kreuzboerg.de/

Flowmarkt Nowkoelln is a lovely bi-monthly flea market alongside the canal, so after your shopping hunt, you can cool down at the banks with a glass of Spritz and watch the Berlin summer buzz by. The market has a good mix of commercial sellers and private ones and there are also bands and DJs, making it a true Neukölln experience. Its little brother in the wonderful Prinzessinnengarten in Kreuzberg, the Kreuzboerg Flowmarket, has just opened recently and takes place when the Neukölln version isn’t on. Check ‘em both out if you can!

http://www.fehrbi.info/
This is a true flea market. Situated in the former West, there are a lot of Russian sellers, alongside Berliners, who sometimes sell real treasures. Design pieces from the 70s and 80s, art, vintage clothes – there really is something for everyone. And afterwards you can head to the Preußenpark for delicious authentic Thai food, prepared by the Thai community – a place also known as Thaipark!

Dahlwitzer Landstr./Schöneicher Str.,  Friedrichshagen , Sundays 8am – 4pm,
 S-Bhf. Friedrichshagen

http://oldthing.de/Berliner-Flohmarkt/Secondhand-und-Kunst/Flohmarkt-Friedrichshagen/

This one takes a little trip to Köpenick, famous for “The Captain of Köpenick “. The market is small but nice, with mainly private sellers displaying old stuff from the GDR. A Flohmarkt like it’s meant to be – not your usual tourist-gathering, but a great place to discover treasures you have been looking for for years!  And afterwards you can head over to Seebad Friedrichshagen, a lovely public bath at Müggelsee, a 2 kilometer walk from the market.
