Berlin is a wonderful city. But sometimes the city life catches up with you and a bit of break from the daily grind is necessary, especially in this abnormally cold October. Maybe as a traveller to Berlin you feel the same. You have been on buses, planes and running from city to city trying to absorb as much culture as possible.
I am a big fan of treating my mind and body right every now and then. Normally I like to leave the city for a day to escape the daily grind but this is not always possible due to other commitments. So recently I decided to take a little break from the city, in the city.
As you walk through a residential area in the Moabit neighbourhood, in northern Berlin, you will find the hidden door waiting for you. Here, there is 20,000 square meters of luxury surroundings and wellness options. They spent around 20 million euro on creating this little oasis, and sourced most of the wood, lamps, and decor from Bali.
There are 11 different saunas, one relaxing indoor pool with plenty of places to lounge peacefully around, and an outdoor pool area. The saunas are infused with surprising ingredients such as honey sesame, mint fresh, lemon squash, and so much more. For those who are serious about the sauna business, there is a panorama sauna, a Russian style sauna, and a garden sauna at 95°C.
On top of this there are indeed a wide range of massages, and if you get hungry there is also a restaurant serving super foods and fresh juices of the day. There are many different places to lounge. The place is really massive and you can walk around and find your own corner, roof top, or in summer enjoy the massive outdoor garden area.
Slippers, towels and bathrobes are all available for a small cost. Please remember we are in Germany and this is a spa and mainly a sauna area meaning that it is a textile free zone. You will not need to bring you bathing suit, just your birthday suit!
So if you have some extra time while in Berlin and you want to treat yourself to a special day I would definitely recommend you Vabali for the day.
