As a place that brings together people from all over the world, we feel very lucky to have the opportunity to meet so many amazing and inspiring individuals every day. Whether it’s our guests, our incredibly diverse staff, or the locals who come down for a beer, it’s the people who make us excited to show up to work every day. It even makes the word work sound nicer! And still, with all that said, some days are more special than others.
Because every few months we get to do a charity project. Giving back is one of the core values The Circus is built on, and knowing we are making even the smallest of difference in the lives of people in need all over the world fills us with joy. And today we are sharing it with you.
But before we get into the details, it’s very important to us to explain the concept of our charity projects, or more specifically, how we choose them. As we already mentioned, building relationships with people who cross our doorstep is our priority. We apply the same principle to our charity projects. From Bully in Gambia to Orphans of Vladivostok, you’ll find that all of our charity projects start from people close to The Circus. So why change a good thing?
And as we complete the Vladivostok project, it comes as a bittersweet moment to close that chapter and start the next. But every project completed is a project that succeeded, so our silver lining will be exactly that: we have collected the targeted amount needed to build a much needed extension to the orphanage in Vladivostok. Words can hardly begin to express how grateful we are to all of you who donated, – your incredible generosity inspires us daily. Thank you for helping us improve the lives of children in an orphanage in Vladivostok!
As for our next endeavor, we have traveled to the beautiful land of vast terrains and ancient traditions – Mongolia! Brought together by our dear friends from the Swiss charity Bayasgalant, one that has been working hard for the last 15 years to help the underprivileged children and adolescents of Ulaanbataar build a future away from poverty and deprivation. By enrolling the children in kindergartens and providing scholarships for higher education, the people of Bayasgalant create new opportunities for a brighter future of these children and young adults.
The goal this time is to collect enough money to provide 11 students with a half year’s tuition. This will enable them to learn a trade or continue their higher education at a university, ultimately opening a door that will lead them out of poverty and into a better future. If you’d like to donate, you can either transfer the amount of your choosing to the bank account below, or drop it into one of our charity boxes at reception. We truly appreciate all of it.
Let’s give the children of Ulaanbataar a break out of the poverty trap!
