Emission Certificate: Every car that enters the “Environmental Zone” (the area within the suburban rail ring, including our district Mitte), needs an emission certificate. There are different ways to obtain an emission certificate such as gas stations, garages, online (www.umwelt-plakette.de), and especially for international guests, from the Berlin city government. Note: Other EU countries may have a similar certificate that can be used here also.
For more information about vehicle regulations and the emission certificate see the Visit Berlin website, and do not hesitate to contact us with any of your questions.
