The Circus Hotel is a haven of design on Rosenthalerplatz in Mitte, a hotel that is tailor-made for travelers who like their Berlin experience shaped by uniqueness on all levels. Ideally located and well connected to the best metro line a visitor can ask for (U8 literally stops at our doorstep), The Circus Hotel’s twelve year old history continues to redefine the Berlin experience and create a memorable stay that keeps our guests coming back. Its unique approach to every aspect of hospitality has been in the core of the hotel from day one, and the time has come for it to receive a complete makeover and start the second decade of the century in style!

Privately owned and run since 1997, The Circus was born from the concept of providing its guests with accommodation that goes beyond a “regular” hotel service. Created by travelers for travelers, The Circus aims to go that extra mile in every sense of the word. Today, that means an investment of close to 3 million for a head-to-toe makeover of the hotel, from rooms’ design, through gastronomic offers and exciting new collaborations, to brand new beds!

If you’ve been following us regularly, you might know about all the details we are taking into consideration for this project, like which scent you’ll remember us for, or how green living covers everything at The Circus, even the toiletries we use! Or better yet, how the new wave of drip coffee is reinventing coffee on the go (no more compromising for instant) and where we look for inspiration for our new rooms’ design. But today, we are focusing on the most important part of staying at a hotel.

Quality of sleep!

Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, visiting just for the weekend or staying a full month, the quality of your sleep has the power to make or break your entire day! Which is why we are making sure that sleeping at The Circus Hotel will have you waking up feeling like you were reborn – every time! To turn this dream into reality, we have teamed up with some of the best mattresses available on the market today! And to make things more interesting, we are giving you (our guests) an opportunity to be a part of the vote! Yes, starting this month we are leaving short questionnaires for you to fill out and tell us about your experience on one of our potential new mattresses!

And that’s not all! As a thank you for participating in our quest for the best sleeping experience a hotel can give, every filled out questionnaire handed to our reception staff will get a chance to win a free stay with us! So come on over, join the slumber party and give us your feedback, we want to know!

If you are curious about the options we are choosing from, here are a few of our top picks for now:

1. Birkenstock

If you ever wore their shoes, we don’t have to explain much. Let’s face it, they are Germany’s most famous anatomical footwear producer. If you own a pair, you know the wonders they can do for your feet. And today, we are bringing that comfort and support to your entire body. Let’s see if their expertise knowledge of anatomy really goes beyond the foot!

2. Ergovital

Another option that reflects our love for supporting local products. It is also an excellent example of  premium quality polyurethane foam mattresses. Designed and manufactured in the midlands of Germany, they tick all of our boxes in theory, now all that’s left is to check if they deliver in practice! We’d love to hear what you think of them, so come over and let us know!

3. Cocomat

A little less local, a little more green, Cocomat mattresses come from Greece and are made using only natural materials like natural latex, coconut fibers and horse hair (and a lot of other great stuff mother nature provides). Their product is made to match their slogan: “Sleep on nature”. If you know The Circus, you know we are big on green, sustainable and natural. So it was only natural we picked Cocomat as one of our potential mattress suppliers!

It’s definitely an exciting time to be a part of The Circus Crew (or a lucky guest), and we’ll keep sharing new ideas and improvements, all part of the biggest project The Circus has ever taken on – project #recreate! So make sure to stay tuned…
